It is a 3-week summer camp for gifted and talented students. Students get the opportunity to make friends with other exceptional students from all over the world, bond over common academic interests, and most importantly, advance their talents and skills in a rigorous learning environment.

How to Qualify and Costs: Academic Explorations introduces students to topics not normally covered in school, and courses does not require prior knowledge or prerequisites. They do, however, require students to earn a qualifying score on an eligibility assessment You can find out more about the eligibility assessment by checking our our blog here.

The Intensive Studies programs are more advanced than the Academic Explorations and do require prior knowledge and certain prerequisites. These courses also have eligibility requirements. Currently, the International Program also allows international students to participate in CTY Prep programs while traveling through or visiting the United States.

I try to teach less and make students think more so they can come up with their own answers coupled with a better, deeper understanding of the subject matter. One of the joys of teaching science is encouraging students to observe closely the world around them.

I enjoy when students start to think critically about how everything in the natural world interacts with everything else, and how they can apply what they have learned in class to real life. I love helping students understand difficult topics and make connections between them.

Understanding Calculus is what makes advanced engineering applications possible, so it is extremely relevant to today's world and to the inventions of tomorrow. I love that through CTY, I get the chance to work with gifted students from all over the world.

I consider it an honor to be part of their journey! I am so excited when students are able to persevere and decode a very challenging cipher in the course! I love that Cryptology teaches patience and dedication, and that mathematics is so much more than just the study of numbers and equations. I enjoy building relationships with students, facilitating their learning, and helping them achieve a refined understanding of the complex world around us.

Using a high energy, enthusiastic approach to learning allows me to deeply connect with my students while having lots of fun! Teaching Arabic to allows me to act as an ambassador of sorts by giving me the opportunity to share a language and culture that is rich and diverse.
